Syrian President outlined a plan to end crise

BEYROUTH (Reuters) - Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said on Sunday it was presented as a peace plan calling for a reconciliation conference with "those who have not betrayed Syria" , which would be followed by the formation of a new government and a amnistie.

"It would be necessary for the first step in a political solution that regional powers stop funding and arming (the opposition), the end of terrorist operations and border control," said the head of state in a speech at the Opera Damas.

"We do not dialoguerons with a puppet made by the West," the president said about the opposition in one of his rare appearances publiques.
